This Short Hills homeowner had just finished a full renovation and wanted the ductwork cleaned before moving back in. Good call. Drywall dust and sawdust don’t stay in the room where the work happens. It gets pulled into the HVAC system and sits there, and this home already had years of everyday dust in the ducts before the renovation even started.

The plenum was coated edge to edge. One vent boot had a pile of leaves and construction debris packed inside it, probably pulled in over the months the house had contractors coming and going with doors propped open. A connection collar was jammed with matted dust, tight enough that it was cutting off airflow to a whole supply run. Even the furnace compartment had dust settled thick around the blower and wiring.

We cleared the vent boot by hand, ran the flexible ductwork through a full clean, stripped and resealed the plenum, cleaned out the furnace compartment, and resealed every connection for a tight fit.
